LEXUS LX 570:THE PINNACLE OF POWER AND PRESTIGE

IT TAKES AN ALREADY LUXURIOUS PLATFORM AND ELEVATES IT TO A WORLD CLASS STATUS.

The Japanese car manufacturer has launched the LX 570 at Rs 2.32 crore. The on-road price of the 450d exceeded the Rs 3 crore mark, so expect 570 to go a similar way.

Till now, the SUV was available only with a 262bhp diesel V8, but now it gets a more powerful 5.7-litre petrol V8. The petrol motor under the hood produces 362bhp – 100 more than the oil burner – and 530Nm of pulling power which is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The diesel V8 covers the 0-100kph mark in a claimed 8.6 seconds, so the beefy petrol V8 should cover the same in less than 8 seconds. If you’re thinking about taking this 3,350 kg beast on an off-road expedition then don’t worry. The 570 is equipped with some off-roading features such as multi-terrain select, multi-terrain monitor, turn assist, active traction control, hill start assist and a five-speed crawl control – this feature adjusts torque and brakes on each wheel independently.

Other than the new engine, all the other features remain the same as in the diesel variant. It’s equipped with a 10-way adjustable driver’s seat, multi-information display, cruise control, 19 speakers surround sound system and five driving modes – Normal, Eco, Comfort, Sport S and SportS+.
